Debutots classes are creative and imaginative story play sessions, specially designed for babies and young children. The relaxed and welcoming sessions are filled with activities to stimulate the senses and every week there’s a different theme and a new story to explore.
What can parents expect at Debutots?
Debutots sessions are fun and nurturing. The interactive storytelling and drama play sessions begin each week with a welcome song, then there’s music and movement before the story comes to life with interactive storytelling and an imaginary drama journey through the story. Expect puppets, bubbles, props and masks, music and songs to help along the way. Then it’s time to come back to the room, shake the story away and relax with some parachute time.
Sessions end with 15 minutes of social time where children are able to explore baskets of books, puppets and masks, whilst adults have a hot drink and a chat – all in the cost of a session.
Benefits of Debutots sessions
Debutots sessions are carefully planned using the Revised Early Years Foundation Stage framework. The imaginative story play sessions explore language skills and early sounds, helping babies and young children to develop their language and listening skills, as well as supporting a love of words and stories.
By journeying through stories and exploring characters, Debutots enables children to improve their social skills and emotional intelligence and children grow in confidence in a group. Every session involves movement and helps to build gross motor skills and strengthen body awareness.
Debutots’ special ingredients provide opportunities for young children to develop new skills whilst having fun playing and exploring their imaginations.
What age range do Debutots sessions cater for?
Family story play sessions welcome babies and children from 6 months to 4 years old. It’s a fantastic class for little ones, as well as babies and their older siblings. Families can come together and get lost in their imaginations, be inspired and come home with lots of ideas for creative play at home.
What parents say about Debutots
“We love Debutots, Laura has a great energy and keeps the little ones interested and involved. Anna always talks about the stories after the class. Finding a class to bring a three year old and baby too was really helpful… I met some lovely, friendly mums and after each class there were tea and biscuits! Heaven for a sleep-deprived mum!” Laura
“Debutots with Laura is an absolutely wonderful class. My two children (3 years and 17 months) both enjoy it immensely. The class is very friendly and relaxed and Laura is fantastic with kids and always happy. Also, the WGC venue is great – clean, warm, with nice facilities and there is always time to socialise at the end of the class, which makes it extra special.” Jana
“Laura’s Debutots class is fantastic! My one year old daughter absolutely loves it. Laura has a great flow for the session of music, storytelling, movement and calm time. She manages to capture the attention of all different ages, including the parents! I would highly recommend this class.” Roisin
