This morning we were invited along to the first look at the new DJ’s Play Park at Jarman Square in Hemel Hempstead. DJ’s Play Park is now open to the public but we were allowed to visit for a special preview before the official opening.
The new DJ’s Play Park is on the first floor, so you have to climb the stairs or use the lift to get to the soft play and activity centre. Once you are upstairs there is a spacious Reception with secure gates to stop little ones escaping. Go through the Reception and you arrive in a huge space, with plenty of tables and chairs in the centre and separate areas around the outside for soft play, role play, football, basketball and go karts. The layout means that you can see all the play spaces from the central seating area.
TAKE A LOOK INSIDE DJ’S PLAY PARK
There are separate soft play areas for under 2’s, under 4’s and older children. We headed for the under 4’s area and climbed and crawled our way to the under 4’s driving area. Mr 2 loves cars and this area was one of his favourites!
Next, we visited the role play area. There’s so much to see and do, little ones are kept really busy here and their imaginations can run wild.
There’s a builder’s section, a fire engine, a vet’s surgery and a school (complete with white board). The little supermarket was very popular, as was the café that has a little till and a tempting bell to ring for service!
DJ’s Play Park caters for a range of ages and there’s a large soft play area for older children, as well as separate areas for football and basketball. There’s even a small go karts circuit (go karts are £1 per ride). This was a preview, so the kitchen wasn’t up and running on our visit, but once the play park is fully open they will be offering hot food and drinks. Good luck to everyone involved in getting everything ready for half term.
The new DJ’s Play Park is in a great location with plenty of parking and it’s surrounded by family friendly restaurants: Nando’s, Prezzo, Frankie & Benny’s and Chiquitos are all on the doorstep, as well as Starbucks inside Cineworld. DJ’s Play Park is set to be a fantastic addition to Jarman Square and we’re looking forward to visiting again in the future.
Thank you to DJ’s Play Park for inviting us along. DJ’s Play Park will be open to the public in time for half term. Follow the DJ’s Play Park Facebook page for the latest information on the official opening date.
