The Magic Tracks Starter Kit is a fantastic toy for young car and racing fans. The track clicks together very easily and you can bend and turn the track in any direction, so you’re not restricted in the design of your circuits.
Take a look at our vlog to see the Magic Tracks Starter Kit and Accessory Kit in action.
What is included in the Magic Tracks Starter Kit
The Magic Tracks Starter Kit comes with 220 pieces of track (which make 11ft of track) as well as one Magic Tracks LED car and stickers so you can customise your car and track. Batteries are not included in the starter pack so, be warned, you will need to make sure that you have 3 AAA batteries and a philips head screwdriver to start your Magic Tracks car.
The car looks like a little super-charged rally car and contains 5 LED lights that flash as the car whizzes around the track. The car goes quite quickly and didn’t leave our track, despite its speed. Be careful with younger children as the wheels spin quickly and you wouldn’t want your little ones hair or fingers getting caught. The track is so flexible that you can change the shape, even in the middle of a race. You can also have a go at creating a banked corner or building your track into a doughnut, or even a hamster wheel. Magic Tracks are so flexible and easy to click together, or separate, so you can keep creating different circuits for your car.
Magic Tracks Tunnel Accessory Kit
Magic Tracks also make accessory kits. Inside the Tunnel Accessory Kit you will find one start/finish gate, two road blocks, six road signs, three trees, one bridge/tunnel and stickers. The road signs clip onto the track really easily and the bridge is a fun feature as it allows you to create track that loops over the bridge and then back through the tunnel.
You can create simple and fun circuits with the Magic Tracks Starter Kit and the Accessory Kit adds extra interest. We have two starter and accessory kits, which means we have two cars and 440 pieces of track, so we can make really long circuits, or race the two cars head-to-head in drag races with the track laid out side-by-side. Double the amount of track means double the fun!
When it gets dark the Magic Tracks car has 5 LED lights that light up the track. The track doesn’t emit light but the colourful track glows as the car drives through the track and shines its lights.
We’ve had a great time playing with Magic Tracks. The track is quick and easy to set-up, the cars run on the track very well and they look great too. You can really let your imagination go wild and create tunnels and ramps, twists and bends. We really like the fact that the track is flexible so you don’t have to keep playing on the same track again and again – you can change the shape of the track very easily, so every time you play you can create something different. It is great fun having two cars as you can set-up races and challenges. If you don’t want to buy two starter kits then you can buy additional cars separately. I also really like the fact that the track is very easy to pack away. If you want to save time then you can just roll the track up, so you don’t have to take your track apart.
Magic Tracks has been a big success here. There have been lots of races and it is fun creating new obstacles for the cars to see whether they can climb a steep ramp or stay on the track for a steep corner. We even tried a loop-the-loop but this was a little too ambitious!
The Magic Tracks Starter Kit (£19.99) and Tunnel Accessory Pack (£9.99) are recommended for children aged 3 years old and above and are available from all good toy stores including Smyths Toys.
