Have you walked past the Old Town Hall in St Albans recently? It does feel like the centre of the city has been a building site for a very long time… but that’s all going to change in 2018! The scaffolding is beginning to come down. Look up and you can see glass walkways being revealed, as the new St Albans Museum and Art Gallery slowly comes to life. In just a few months the doors will open to the public and you can be a part of the very fabric of this historic landmark project.
When the new St Albans Museum and Art Gallery opens it will feature an oak panelled corridor and you can have your name, a family name, or the name of a loved one carved into one of these oak panels and become a part of St Albans history… imagine “The Smiths“, “Team Smith“, “The Smith Family“, or the name of a loved one carved in a unique tribute at the heart of the city centre. But you need to be quick. The Honours Board campaign closes at the end of December 2017, to allow time for the Honours Boards to be made and installed, ready for the new St Albans Museum and Art Gallery opening in 2018.
Don’t miss your chance to carve the family name, or the name of a loved one, into history. Donate £250 towards the new St Albans Museum and Art Gallery and you can choose a name to be displayed in the new museum. The Honours Boards will be produced by a local artist in the style of historic graffiti using various styles and sizes. By supporting the Honours Board campaign you will be helping to make the new museum a reality, at the same time as making a mark on St Albans.
If you wish to donate to the Honours Board campaign as part of a Christmas gift, don’t miss your chance.
