The Tiger Who Came To Tea Costume – Snazaroo Face Painting Kits

1 May 2018 by Kirsty Leave a Comment

I can’t be the only one that has a stash of face painting kits in the house that only see the light of day once a year during the annual World Book Day costume panic, can I? Then Snazaroo sent me one of their new Brush Pens face painting kits… and it’s a game changer!

The new Snazaroo Brush Pens are just like a make-up concealer or highlighter pen – each colour has a simple pen with a brush nib and you twist the bottom of the pen to add more face paint to the brush. No water. No sponges. No fuss. They’re quick and easy to use. Now if someone asks for face paints on a rainy Saturday afternoon I find myself saying “Yes,” instead of “Look! Over there… a flying pig”.

The new Snazaroo Brush Pens come in 12 different colours. We were sent the Jungle pack containing yellow, brown and green face paints, which is perfect for creating a Tiger Who Came To Tea costume for Mr 3.

The pens are very easy to use. You simply twist the bottom of the brush pen a few times and the brush begins to load with the colour of the face paints. Then you can get to work. I started with the yellow brush pen and used a series of strokes to build up a base, going along the jawline and across the forehead.

The face paint dries very quickly, so I could move straight on to adding detail with the brown Snazaroo Brush Pen. I added strokes for the stripes and then a little brown nose. The brush is a great size as you can cover large areas quickly but it’s also small enough to allow you to add details.

Add a tiger onesie for an easy The Tiger Who Came To Tea costume!

I’m really impressed with the Snazaroo Brush Pens – they really do make face painting easy. They’re simple to apply and they wash off with soap and water. Now we get the face painting kits out a lot more and it’s a great activity to keep little ones busy on a rainy day.

The Snazaroo Brush Pens are so easy to use that the kids can even help themselves and have a go at painting on their own designs. It’s a fun way to encourage their creativity and there’s hardly any mess – watch out if you load the brush with too much paint as it can drip, but this is easily wiped up.

In just a few weeks we’ve used face paints more than we did in the whole of last year! The Snazaroo Brush Pens come in packs of three… choose from Jungle, Fantasy, Adventure, Halloween or Monochrome.

The Snazaroo Brush Pens face painting kits are great for gifts, stocking fillers, party prizes or just for fun. We will definitely be adding to our collection ready for Summer festivals and Halloween!

  • If you're looking for inspiration for the half term holidays, or weekends now that the weather is warming up, then there's a post full of ideas on the blog.β €

Last year we were invited to go along and visit the World of Dinosaurs @paradisewildlifepark There are over 20 animatronic dinosaurs to discover in the woods. Are you brave enough to face the Velociraptors and the T-Rex? β €

  • Where did the sunshine go? I'm really hoping that we can have a few adventures outdoors this half term. After the last few weeks of coughs, colds and poorly children I think we need to get outside and blow away the cobwebs.

It makes such a difference to be able to leave the house without several layers, coats, hats, boots and all that, so I've got everything crossed for some warmer weather.
🀞🏻🀞🏻🀞🏻🀞🏻🀞🏻
I'm so ready for a little bit of sunshine. Is that too much to ask for in half term week? Okay... don't answer that!

There I’ve said it... so it’s my fault if it snows next week ✨🀣✨ Don’t panic, the weather forecast actually looks good for the half term holidays so we can look forward to exploring and finding more beautiful snowdrops in the woods.

I’m just hoping that everyone in this house gets better soon so that we can enjoy one or two adventures. Send healing vibes my way. Happy half term!

We're having another slow day here with poorly boys 🀧 and I'm suffering from serious sleep deprivation πŸ€ͺ . IT. NEVER. GETS. ANY. EASIER. πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•
Still... the sun is shining β˜€οΈ, we're nice and cosy and it's fun sorting through Love Hearts to find one with the perfect message on it πŸ₯°. Thank you to @swizzles_sweets for these retro treats [gifted] #sharethelove #valentines #valentinesday2019 #lovehearts #love
  • REVIEW | Last weekend we brightened up a grey day when we were invited to try afternoon tea 🍰 for the family @cromwelloldstevenage because... well... freshly baked scones πŸ™‹πŸΌ YES PLEASE!
✨🍰🍰🍰🍰🍰✨
The boys were delighted to discover that there is such a thing as a β€˜meal’ that consists of scones and lots of different cakes 🧁 and it was a welcome change to do something a little more sophisticated, that also involved being cosy and warm indoors πŸ™ŒπŸ»
✨🍰🍰🍰🍰🍰✨
The scones were served straight from the oven, still warm, light and crumbly... the servings of jam and cream were generous... and it was a picture to see youngest child’s face when he bit into the lemon
meringue tart πŸ€£πŸ‹πŸ‹πŸ‹πŸ‹πŸ€£
✨🍰🍰🍰🍰🍰✨
I thought the Traditional Afternoon Tea was really good value at Β£14.95 per person, or you could add a glass of Prosecco for an additional Β£5πŸ₯‚πŸ₯‚. The children’s Afternoon Tea was Β£7.95 per child. There are no re-fills but frankly I wouldn’t expect that for this money πŸ’·
✨🍰🍰🍰🍰🍰✨
We were so full afterwards that I practically rolled out of the door and we went for a wander in Old Stevenage in an attempt to β€˜walk off’ the cake. A good place to go if you don’t want to break the bank and still enjoy good service and freshly prepared treats.

  • AD | It’s freezing cold outside, winter has truly arrived! ❄️❄️ Brrr! ❄️❄️ So I was very happy this week when we were invited to enjoy some warm, indoor entertainment at the new @hollywoodbowluk at intu Watford πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ›πŸ™ŒπŸ»
.
We all love bowling; it’s something we can all do together. I often find myself on the side-lines whilst the boys are having all the fun but bowling at intu Watford really is for everyone (recommended minimum age for a child to bowl is 4 years old)βœ¨πŸ‘ŒπŸ»βœ¨.
.
As an added bonus parking @intuwatford is now only Β£2 after 5pmπŸš™, so you can enjoy the lanesπŸ‘©β€πŸ‘¦β€πŸ‘¦ and stay for food in the diner🍟, without having to worry about the parking charges racking upπŸ’°. .
The boys want to go back soon and visit the new @cineworld 🍿and there’s @rockupadventure πŸ§—πŸ»β€β™‚οΈtoo! I’m not complaining... I’m happy to embrace some indoor fun whilst it’s icy cold outside. I might even be allowed to squeeze in some shopping πŸ›πŸ› and then there’s @gbkburgers and @modpizzauk or @yosushi to try πŸ’πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ
.
The only problem is getting everyone to agree on what to do next πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ.
.
Thank you intu Watford for introducing the new Β£2 flat rate for parking after 5pm, so I have one less thing to worry about βœ¨πŸ‘πŸ»βœ¨

  • The sun was shining today. A blue sky makes such a huge difference to my mood, although the cloudless sky also meant freezing cold temperatures.
I went to a new exhibition at @unihertsarts at the weekend that looks at colour and the the effect that it has on us. The photo is of a piece by Jacob Dahlgren which is made from thousands of metres of multi-coloured ribbon, which you can walk through. Simple and beautiful. Now I have to resist the urge to cover the whole house in ribbons and just try the colours instead.

If you want to take a look yourself then the best time to go is Saturdays 11am-3pm as parking is free. The exhibition is small but I enjoyed it and it's on until 7th February 2019 #colours #coloursnap #colourpop #colourinspo #art #artgallery #cultureblogger #hertfordshire #visitherts #visitengland #uharts #uniofherts #ukparentbloggers #pbloggers #pbloggersuk #ukexplore #explore_britain #momentsofmine
